About this place

Angat Dam supplies roughly 97% of Metro Manila's water and also powers a hydroelectric plant, and the Hilltop View Deck built by the Norzagaray local government lets visitors take in the scale of it from above. The viewing area has a small landscaped garden with concrete tables and chairs. It sits within the Angat Watershed Forest Reserve, near the Angat Rainforest and Ecological Park in Sitio Bitbit, San Lorenzo, which adds an ecological center and the Tarictic fun trail. Photography is restricted near the dam spillway itself, and there are security checkpoints before reaching the deck.

Accessibility

  • Reached via Barangay San Lorenzo, Hilltop area: private vehicle recommended
  • Passes through security sentry gates before the viewing area
  • Photography restricted near the dam spillway

Many visitors praise the stunning panoramic views of the blue waters and lush green landscapes, especially during clear weather. It's noted as a great place for photography, family picnics, and quick getaways from the city. The entrance fee is considered affordable, and some mention the presence of small food stalls selling local snacks.

The scenery is beautiful, cold even at noon, quiet and peaceful 😌 It was closed to tourists 3~4 Years ago. I was just privileged that I am an Electrical Engineer at NGCP so I have an access to restricted areas like this, so even if I include my whole family in our trip the guards just let us in.

This is a protected area. A good vantage point of the Angat water reservoir and Angat Hydropower Plant.

Offers amazing view of Angat Watershed. Can be difficult to access for security reasons and really remote location.
